REVIEW: FLIR FX Wireless HD Video Monitoring Camera

Do you ever wonder what’s going on at home when you are not there. What is the dog doing, what are the kids up to or is the baby sleeping? Maybe just curious to make sure that no one is trying to get into your house that shouldn’t.

FLIR, who has been around for years making high quality cameras used by professionals as well as government agencies has come out with the FX. It’s a wireless 1080p HD video monitoring camera you can place anywhere.

The camera, which is a little larger than a watch face can operate on it’s own with a built in battery, giving you 2 hours of battery life.

You can also attach it to several different mounts/housings.

• Indoor Stand: Connected to this stand, you can get an additional 2 hours of battery life giving 4 hours total or connect a power cord to the stand for constant power
• Outdoor Security Housing: A weatherproof housing locks your camera inside and adds 4 high-powered IR illuminators for clear, security-grade night vision
• Dash Camera Mount: This adjustable suction cup windshield mount lets you record the road in front of you in full 1080p HD while you are on the move. The built in accelerometer also senses a 1.7g impact and creates a permanent recording that saves the 10 seconds prior to contact as well.
• Waterproof Sports Case: This action case can be mounted to a bike, attached to a helmet, stuck on a board or whatever else you might like to do for fun. Being fully waterproof and submersible, it never matters what the weather is outside or where you are going with it.

• 2-Way Audio: You can use your FX as an intercom to listen in on the area you are looking at as well as speak to anyone on the other side of the lens.
• Night Vision: The FX is capable of viewing up to 33 feet away at night indoors or up to 65 feet away with the outdoor camera housing.

The FLIR FX is really a great little camera packed with tons of features and abilities and most importantly, great visibility through their 1080p HD camera lens. Whether you use it plugged in and mounted or on the go like a sports camera, you are going to be happy with the results. There are tons of video monitoring cameras on the market but I haven’t found one that gives you all the features listed above and more.
